What is P.O.P ?

Pain On Paper is a therapeutic violence prevention program that teaches alternative methods of expression. 

Rap, art, poetry, song written and short stories are R.A.P.S. The POP creative outlets of expression offers participants a variety of new ways of expressing feelings and emotions. Since 2009 in Atlanta Ga the POP program has expanded to cities like Ashville NC, Newport News Va to Charlotte NC. 

Over 790 participants have completed the program.

The program has had the likes of Jeezy, Benzino, Dj Scream and Angie Stone come talk to the youth. Pain On Paper program serve youth with Passion and love to help them to properly communicate without using violence.

THE TEAM

Pezo Johnson

Pezo Johnson, founder of the Pain On Paper (P.O.P.) Program, is an award-winning radio personality, youth counselor, and community advocate with over 20 years of experience working with young people in schools, juvenile detention centers, group homes, shelters, and treatment facilities.

Concerned by the rise in youth violence, Pezo created Poems Over Pistols in 2009, which evolved into Pain On Paper, a program combining music, art, poetry, anger management, social-emotional learning, conflict resolution, and music therapy to give young people positive outlets for self-expression.

Beyond his work with youth, Pezo has created impactful projects including the philanthropic series “Make It Rain in the Hood” and the award-winning “The Mixtape Movie,” blending music, storytelling, acting, poetry, and culture to inspire and connect communities.

Coach Raychelle LeBlanc

Raychelle began her marketing career in 1995 as co-founder of DETRICS ENTERTAINMENT before leading management and publicity at CLOCKWORK MANAGEMENT, where she represented clients including Black Ceaser of Tommy Boy Records.

In 1998, she founded SHENOTES ENTERTAINMENT in New York City, specializing in national marketing, publicity, promotions, and events.

Today, as a Certified Life & Wellness Coach, Nutrition Therapy Practitioner, Master Meditation Teacher, and Reiki Master, Raychelle helps people create meaningful breakthroughs, reconnect with themselves, and achieve greater balance and alignment of mind, body, and spirit.

The Music Producer

An award-winning music producer with over 10 years of experience composing, producing, mixing, and mastering across R&B, Hip Hop, Pop, EDM, and Christian music.

With expertise in FL Studio, Pro Tools, Ableton Live, and Audacity, his work has earned placements with major labels and networks including Universal Music Group, Epic Records, Republic Records, Grand Hustle Records, BET, TNT, and Lifetime. His music has also generated over 64 million downloads on SoundClick.

A self-taught keyboardist and percussionist, he has lectured Music Production students at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) and has been named ATL Independent Producer of the Year three consecutive years (2014–2016).

He is the owner of You Know I Made Tha Beat Productions LLC, a BMI member, P.O.P. Program Mentor, and HitStreamr Brand Ambassador.

Dr. Joyce Morley

Dr. Joyce, President & CEO of Morley & Associates, Inc. and J. Morley Productions, Inc., is an accomplished educator, psychotherapist, consultant, coach, and motivational speaker with extensive experience in education, mental health, leadership, and professional development.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education/Psychology, a Master’s degree in Counselor Education, Specialist degrees in Counselor Education and Education Administration, and a Doctorate in Counseling.

Dr. Joyce has served as an educator, university professor, licensed psychotherapist, and international mental health advocate. She was selected as an International Delegate for the World Mental Health Organization and led a mental health team supporting Hurricane Katrina survivors, including first responders and their families.

Today, she provides keynote speaking, executive and life coaching, training, workshops, mediation, psychotherapy, and consulting for individuals, organizations, corporations, educational institutions, and families.

Megan Buhmann

Megan Buhmann is a Board Certified Music Therapist and professional vocalist with a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance from Christopher Newport University. She has extensive experience performing, teaching, and providing clinical music therapy to children and adults with diverse needs and goals.

A passionate performer from a young age, Megan has performed at notable venues and events including The Kennedy Center, Verizon Center, Good Morning America, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and BET’s Super Bowl Gospel Celebration. She is also a member of Voices of Fire, Pharrell Williams’ premier gospel choir featured on Netflix.

Megan is the Co-Owner of Tidewater Music Therapy, LLC, serving the Hampton Roads community. She is passionate about using the power of music to support healing, connection, and personal growth.

Shawn L. Garrison, Ph.D.

Dr. Shawn L. Garrison, Ph.D. is the Director of Counseling Services at Morehouse School of Medicine, where she has spent over 30 years supporting students across five academic programs and residents in seven medical specialties through counseling, teaching, and clinical supervision.

She holds a B.A. in Psychology from Spelman College and both an M.S. and Ph.D. in Applied Psychology from the University of Georgia. A licensed clinical psychologist in Georgia since 1986, Dr. Garrison specializes in psychotherapy, stress management, study skills, time management, and cognitive behavioral therapy.

She also teaches psychotherapy to psychiatry residents and provides clinical supervision, while contributing to institutional committees and learning communities at Morehouse School of Medicine. She is deeply committed to empowering individuals through compassionate mental health support, education, and personal development. Her work continues to impact students, professionals, and communities through counseling, teaching, and advocacy.

Darrin Still

Darrin Still is an accomplished audio engineer with 15 years of experience in audio production, post-production, and sound design. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, he founded The MasterSound with a passion for creating clarity, precision, and depth in music and film.

Darrin has worked across short and feature films, corporate productions, and industrial projects, while mastering 300+ songs across multiple genres. His experience in both music mastering and post-production sound allows him to bring a versatile perspective to every creative project, helping artists, musicians, and filmmakers bring their work to life.

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Darrin is now based in Atlanta, Georgia.
